Makeup Through History

The makeup is a fundamental part of female beauty today, and you might think that this is a relatively modern, but not so.
There is archeological evidence that 6000 years ago and was used makeup in ancient Egypt, and this practice has continued throughout human history in all ages and cultures.
Then share an interesting chronology of makeup through history:

Natalia Vodianova guest-edits Russian Vogue

We just saw the copy of March 2008 Russian Vogue and it's all about Natalia Vodianova. Photographed by everyone including Steven Meisel and Mario Testino, the lovely Mrs Portman appears to be hotter than ever... are you as thrilled as the Russians?

It's spring break in America!

Ahh yes, it's that time of the year again. After months of hibernating here in New York nothing is more inspiring than a vacation some place warm. Think Amy Winehouse goes to Ibiza. You will need:
Plastic YSL flip flops with ties, Forever 21 stretchy bead bracelets (you can drown them in the pool and not care)

The simplest string bikini possible (a reward for all the hours spent at the gym and all the desserts that have been skipped)

Missoni woven fedora and Rayban aviators

A cotton string Ecobag and some tattoos (although we're too clean-cut to even contemplate real ones)

+ light blue jean cut-offs a la Amy, bronzer, sunscreen and you're done!

French girls in plaid

The shirts are from Berangere Claire whose website unequivocally states they are American Redneck style. (That's so not PC we love her already!)

Wall Street Journal stirs up the "Skinny Debate"

Looks like everyone has seen the article in WSJ about the good ol' "skinny debate" by now. This time le scandale has surrounded the 17-year old Teen Vogue sensation Ali Michael who "got fat" (gained 5 pounds) and as a result was disqualified from walking the Paris shows by some cruel French fashion designers.

Ali: Before and After

Ali is on her way back to Texas right now but don't be upset, Ali, you really don't look any "fatter" than this nice lady shot by S. Meisel for Italian Vogue!

Balenciaga A/W 2008

Wow what a strange feeling - waking up to a sight of pointy-toe shoes... it's like 1990's all over again!

we still have a load of these somewhere in the back of the closet..
